
Types of Blogs and Sites
There can many different types of sites on our servers.
- Business: Companies have discovered the power of the DirectFocusSystem™.com to more directly and personally engage with their customers. Professionals ranging from realtors to lawyers and stock brokers are also using our services to share their expertise and promote their services.
- Personal: This is the broadest category and includes blogs by individuals about personal topics like politics, music, family, parenting, travel, health, holidays, religion, books, photography, you name it.
- Schools: Our hosting service provides great software an ways for teachers and students to collaborate on classroom projects.
- Non-profits: Foundations, charities, and human rights groups are finding our blogs to be great tools to raise awareness and money for their causes.
- Politics: Members of parliament, political parties, government agencies, political groups and activists can use our services to connect with their various constituencies.
- Military: Members of the military can report what they see happening in various parts of the world, to stay in touch with their families, and some of those families are in turn using blogs to support each other.
- Private: Some people make their blogs/websites private to share photos and information within families, companies, or schools.
- Sports: Teams, athletes, and fans can use the features in our hosting services to express and share their passion for various sports.
- How-to, tips and reviews: Blogs/websites that share tips and reviews about cooking, products, games, music, books, movies, and so on.
And here are some examples of blogs/websites that are banned from our servers (all of these fall under the general heading of “spam blogs”, or splogs, and will be deleted as soon as we find them or they get reported):
- Scraper blogs/websites: Blogs/websites that take content from other blogs/websites and re-publish it without permission (this is sometimes called scraping). If a blog/website contains all or mostly stolen and unoriginal content, it’s gone!
- Affiliate marketing blogs/websites: Blogs/websites with the primary purpose of driving traffic to affiliate programs and get-rich-quick schemes (”Make six figures from home!!”, “20 easy steps to top profits!!”, etc). This includes multi-level marketing (MLM) blogs/websites and pyramid schemes. To be clear, people writing their own original book, movie or game reviews and linking them to Amazon, or people linking to their own products on Etsy do NOT fall into this category.
- Warez blogs/websites: Blogs/websites that promote pirated copies of ebooks, software packages, music, movies, games, etc.
- Automated blogs/websites: Blogs/websites that are generated by computers, including randomly generated blogs/websites, blogs/websites that re-publish press releases, marketing material, search engine results, link dumps or any other mass-produced content.
